What is hans
Hans makes it possible to tunnel IPv4 through ICMP echo packets, so you could call it a ping tunnel. This can be useful when you find yourself in the situation that your Internet access is firewalled, but pings are allowed. Hans runs on Linux as a client and a server. It runs on Mac OS X, iPhone/iPod touch, FreeBSD and OpenBSD as a client only. You probably want also install packages hans-client or hans-server or both
We can use yum or dnf to install hans on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install hans.
Install hans on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install hans using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install hans
Install hans on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install hans using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install hans
How To Uninstall hans on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the hans package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove hans
