How To Install h2o on Kali Linux

What is h2o

h2o is:

H2O is a new generation HTTP server that provides quicker response to users with less CPU utilization when compared to older web servers. Designed from ground-up, the server takes full advantage of HTTP/2 features including prioritized content serving and server push.

There are three methods to install h2o on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install h2o Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install h2o using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install h2o

Install h2o Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install h2o using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install h2o

Install h2o Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install h2o using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install h2o

How To Uninstall h2o on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the h2o package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove h2o

Uninstall h2o And Its Dependencies

To uninstall h2o and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove h2o

Remove h2o Configurations and Data

To remove h2o configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge h2o

Remove h2o configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
