In this tutorial we learn how to install gyp
on CentOS 7.
What is gyp
GYP is a tool to generates native Visual Studio, Xcode and SCons and/or make build files from a platform-independent input format. Its syntax is a universal cross-platform build representation that still allows sufficient per-platform flexibility to accommodate irreconcilable differences.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install gyp
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gyp.
Install gyp on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install gyp
using yum
by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
