What is gwyddion-common

gwyddion-common is:

Gwyddion is a modular program for Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) data visualization and analysis. It is primarily intended for analysis of height field data obtained by microscopy techniques like

  • Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM),
  • Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM),
  • Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM),
  • Near-field Scanning Optical Microscopy (SNOM or NSOM) and others. However, it can be used for arbitrary height field and image analysis.

This package contains architecture-independent files for Gwyddion - a modular program for Scanning Probe Microscopy data visualization and analysis.

There are three methods to install gwyddion-common on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install gwyddion-common Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
