How To Install gwc on Ubuntu 20.04

The Gtk Wave Cleaner (gwc) is an application that helps you in getting rid of noise and clicks in audio files. This is most commonly used when translating your old vinyl or old tapes to a digital format, but it can be applied to every soundfile that has a more or less constant noise level.

Install gwc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gwc using apt-get by running the following command:

Install gwc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install gwc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gwc
Install gwc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

How To Uninstall gwc on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the gwc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gwc
Uninstall gwc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gwc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gwc
Remove gwc Configurations and Data
To remove gwc configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gwc
Remove gwc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge gwc
