How To Install gthumb on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install gthumb on Kali Linux.
What is gthumb
gthumb is:
gThumb is an advanced image viewer and browser. It has many useful features, such as filesystem browsing, slide show, image catalogs, web album creation, camera import, image CD burning, batch file operations and quick image editing features like transformation and color manipulation.
It’s designed for GNOME desktop environment and uses its platform. For camera import feature, the gPhoto2 library is used.
There are three methods to install gthumb on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gthumb Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gthumb using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gthumbInstall gthumb Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gthumb using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gthumbInstall gthumb Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gthumb using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gthumbHow To Uninstall gthumb on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the gthumb package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gthumbUninstall gthumb And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gthumb and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gthumbRemove gthumb Configurations and Data
To remove gthumb configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gthumbRemove gthumb configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gthumb configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
