How To Install grepcidr on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install grepcidr on Kali Linux.
What is grepcidr
grepcidr is:
grepcidr can be used to filter a list of IP addresses against one or more Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) specifications, or arbitrary networks specified by an address range. As with grep, there are options to invert matching and load patterns from a file. grepcidr is capable of comparing thousands or even millions of IPs to networks with little memory usage and in reasonable computation time.
grepcidr has endless uses in network software, including: mail filtering and processing, network security, log analysis, and many custom applications.
There are three methods to install grepcidr on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install grepcidr Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install grepcidr using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install grepcidrInstall grepcidr Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install grepcidr using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install grepcidrInstall grepcidr Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the grepcidr package we can use the following command:

To uninstall grepcidr and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove grepcidrRemove grepcidr Configurations and Data
To remove grepcidr configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
