How To Install grass-gui on Debian 10

on Debian 10.
What is grass-gui
grass-gui is:
Commonly referred to as GRASS, this is a Geographic Information System (GIS) used for geospatial data management and analysis, image processing, graphics/map production, spatial modeling, and visualization. GRASS is currently used in academic and commercial settings around the world, as well as by many government agencies and environmental consulting companies.
This package contains the GRASS GUIs.
There are three methods to install grass-gui
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install grass-gui Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install grass-gui
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install grass-gui
Install grass-gui Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install grass-gui
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install grass-gui
Install grass-gui Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install grass-gui
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install grass-gui
How To Uninstall grass-gui on Debian 10
To uninstall only the grass-gui
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove grass-gui
Uninstall grass-gui And Its Dependencies
To uninstall grass-gui
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove grass-gui
Remove grass-gui Configurations and Data
To remove grass-gui
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge grass-gui
Remove grass-gui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove grass-gui

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge grass-gui
