How To Install graphite2 on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install graphite2 on CentOS 7.
What is graphite2
Graphite2 is a project within SIL’s Non-Roman Script Initiative and Language Software Development groups to provide rendering capabilities for complex non-Roman writing systems. Graphite can be used to create “smart fonts” capable of displaying writing systems with various complex behaviors. With respect to the Text Encoding Model, Graphite handles the “Rendering” aspect of writing system implementation. We can use yum or dnf to install graphite2 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install graphite2.
Install graphite2 on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install graphite2 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install graphite2
Install graphite2 on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install graphite2 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install graphite2
How To Uninstall graphite2 on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the graphite2 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove graphite2
