How To Install gpm on Debian 11

In this tutorial we learn how to install gpm
on Debian 11.
What is gpm
gpm is:
This package provides a daemon that captures mouse events when the system console is active, and delivers events to applications through a library.
By default, the daemon provides a ‘selection’ mode, so that cut-and-paste with the mouse works on the console just as it does under X.
There are three methods to install gpm
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gpm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gpm
using apt-get
