How To Install goldendict-wordnet on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install goldendict-wordnet on Kali Linux.

What is goldendict-wordnet

goldendict-wordnet is:

WordNet(C) is an on-line lexical reference system whose design is inspired by current psycholinguistic theories of human lexical memory. English nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are organized into synonym sets, each representing one underlying lexical concept. Different relations link the synonym sets.

WordNet was developed by the Cognitive Science Laboratory at Princeton University under the direction of Professor George A. Miller (Principal Investigator).

This package contains an adaptation wordnet database for such dictionaries as goldendict.

There are three methods to install goldendict-wordnet on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install goldendict-wordnet Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install goldendict-wordnet using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install goldendict-wordnet

Install goldendict-wordnet Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install goldendict-wordnet using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install goldendict-wordnet

Install goldendict-wordnet Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install goldendict-wordnet using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install goldendict-wordnet

How To Uninstall goldendict-wordnet on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the goldendict-wordnet package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove goldendict-wordnet

Uninstall goldendict-wordnet And Its Dependencies

To uninstall goldendict-wordnet and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove goldendict-wordnet

Remove goldendict-wordnet Configurations and Data

To remove goldendict-wordnet configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge goldendict-wordnet

Remove goldendict-wordnet configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove goldendict-wordnet configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
