How To Install goi18n on Ubuntu 18.04

on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is goi18n
goi18n is:
go-i18n is a Go package and a command that helps you translate Go programs into multiple languages.
- Supports pluralized strings for all 200+ languages in the Unicode Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR).
- Code and tests are automatically generated from CLDR data
- Supports strings with named variables using text/template syntax.
- Translation files are simple JSON or YAML.
This package contains the /usr/bin/goi18n command which provides functionality for managing the translation process.
There are three methods to install goi18n
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install goi18n Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install goi18n
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install goi18n

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install goi18n
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install goi18n
Install goi18n Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install goi18n
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install goi18n
How To Uninstall goi18n on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the goi18n
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove goi18n
Uninstall goi18n And Its Dependencies
To uninstall goi18n
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove goi18n
Remove goi18n Configurations and Data
To remove goi18n
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge goi18n
Remove goi18n configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove goi18n
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
