How To Install go-org on Ubuntu 22.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install go-org on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is go-org
go-org is:
go-org is an Org mode parser written in Go.
Take a look at https://niklasfasching.github.io/go-org/ for some examples and an online Org → HTML demo (Wasm based).
Please note that the goal for the HTML export is to produce sensible HTML output, not to exactly reproduce output the output of org-html-export.
This package contains the go-org executable.
There are three methods to install go-org on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install go-org Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install go-org using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install go-org
Install go-org Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install go-org using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install go-org
Install go-org Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install go-org using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install go-org
How To Uninstall go-org on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the go-org package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove go-org
Uninstall go-org And Its Dependencies
To uninstall go-org and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove go-org
Remove go-org Configurations and Data
To remove go-org configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge go-org
Remove go-org configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove go-org configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge go-org
