How To Install gnutls-devel on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install gnutls-devel on CentOS 7.
What is gnutls-devel
GnuTLS is a secure communications library implementing the SSL, TLS and DTLS protocols and technologies around them. It provides a simple C language application programming interface (API) to access the secure communications protocols as well as APIs to parse and write X.509, PKCS #12, OpenPGP and other required structures. This package contains files needed for developing applications with the GnuTLS library. We can use yum or dnf to install gnutls-devel on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnutls-devel.
Install gnutls-devel on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install gnutls-devel using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install gnutls-devel
Install gnutls-devel on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install gnutls-devel using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gnutls-devel
How To Uninstall gnutls-devel on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the gnutls-devel package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove gnutls-devel
