How To Install gnutls on CentOS 7

on CentOS 7.
What is gnutls
GnuTLS is a secure communications library implementing the SSL, TLS and DTLS protocols and technologies around them. It provides a simple C language application programming interface (API) to access the secure communications protocols as well as APIs to parse and write X.509, PKCS #12, OpenPGP and other required structures. We can use yum
or dnf
to install gnutls
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnutls.
Install gnutls on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install gnutls
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install gnutls
Install gnutls on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install gnutls
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gnutls
How To Uninstall gnutls on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the gnutls
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove gnutls
