How To Install gnutls on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install gnutls on AlmaLinux 8.
What is gnutls
GnuTLS is a secure communications library implementing the SSL, TLS and DTLS protocols and technologies around them. It provides a simple C language application programming interface (API) to access the secure communications protocols as well as APIs to parse and write X.509, PKCS #12, OpenPGP and other required structures.
We can use yum or dnf to install gnutls on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnutls.
Install gnutls on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install gnutls using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gnutls
Install gnutls on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install gnutls using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install gnutls
How To Uninstall gnutls on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the gnutls package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove gnutls
