How To Install gnome-split on Ubuntu 18.04

What is gnome-split
gnome-split is:
Tool that allows you to split files and merge them back. It is written in Java and uses a GTK+ user interface (thanks to the java-gnome project). The goal is to offer a native implementation of similar projects which can handle multiple file formats (e.g. Xtremsplit).
There are three methods to install gnome-split on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gnome-split Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gnome-split using apt-get by running the following command:

To uninstall only the gnome-split package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gnome-split

To uninstall gnome-split and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gnome-split
Remove gnome-split Configurations and Data
To remove gnome-split configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gnome-split
