How To Install gnome-shell-extension-iok on CentOS 7

This Gnome Shell extension opens iok in current locale Inscript2 keymap. If Inscript2 keymap for current locale is not available then iok will be started in advanced mode.

We can use yum or dnf to install gnome-shell-extension-iok on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnome-shell-extension-iok.

Install gnome-shell-extension-iok on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install gnome-shell-extension-iok using yum by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf -y install gnome-shell-extension-iok

How To Uninstall gnome-shell-extension-iok on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the gnome-shell-extension-iok package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove gnome-shell-extension-iok
