What is gnome-menus
gnome-menus is an implementation of the draft “Desktop Menu Specification” from freedesktop.org. This package also contains the GNOME menu layout configuration files, .directory files and assorted menu related utility programs, Python bindings, and a simple menu editor.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install gnome-menus
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnome-menus.
Install gnome-menus on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install gnome-menus
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gnome-menus
Install gnome-menus on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install gnome-menus
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install gnome-menus
How To Uninstall gnome-menus on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the gnome-menus
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove gnome-menus
