What is glusterfs-cli
GlusterFS is a distributed file-system capable of scaling to several petabytes. It aggregates various storage bricks over Infiniband RDMA or TCP/IP interconnect into one large parallel network file system. GlusterFS is one of the most sophisticated file systems in terms of features and extensibility. It borrows a powerful concept called Translators from GNU Hurd kernel. Much of the code in GlusterFS is in user space and easily manageable. This package provides the GlusterFS CLI application and its man page
We can use yum or dnf to install glusterfs-cli on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install glusterfs-cli.
Install glusterfs-cli on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install glusterfs-cli using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install glusterfs-cli
Install glusterfs-cli on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install glusterfs-cli using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install glusterfs-cli
How To Uninstall glusterfs-cli on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the glusterfs-cli package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove glusterfs-cli
