How To Install glom on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install glom on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is glom
glom is:
With Glom you can design table definitions and the relationships between them, plus arrange the fields on the screen. You can edit and search the data in those tables, and specify field values in terms of other fields. It’s as easy as it should be.
The design is loosely based on FileMaker Pro, with the added advantage of separation between interface and data. Its simple framework should be enough to implement most database applications. Without Glom these systems normally consist of lots of repetitive, unmaintainable code.
There are three methods to install glom on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install glom Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install glom using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install glom
Install glom Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install glom using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install glom
Install glom Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install glom using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install glom
How To Uninstall glom on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the glom package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove glom
Uninstall glom And Its Dependencies
To uninstall glom and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove glom
Remove glom Configurations and Data
To remove glom configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge glom
Remove glom configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove glom configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge glom
