How To Install globus-core on Debian 9

What is globus-core
globus-core is:
The Globus Toolkit is an open source software toolkit used for building Grid systems and applications. It is being developed by the Globus Alliance and many others all over the world. A growing number of projects and companies are using the Globus Toolkit to unlock the potential of grids for their cause.
The globus-core package is no longer needed with Globus Toolkit 6. This transitional package provides a dummy pkg-config file to fulfill dependencies during the transition. In can be removed when no longer needed.
There are three methods to install globus-core on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install globus-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install globus-core using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install globus-core
Install globus-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install globus-core using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install globus-core
Install globus-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install globus-core using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install globus-core
How To Uninstall globus-core on Debian 9
To uninstall only the globus-core package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove globus-core
Uninstall globus-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall globus-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove globus-core
Remove globus-core Configurations and Data
To remove globus-core configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge globus-core
