How To Install git-gui on Kali Linux

on Kali Linux.
What is git-gui
git-gui is:
Git is popular version control system designed to handle very large projects with speed and efficiency; it is used for many high profile open source projects, most notably the Linux kernel.
Git falls in the category of distributed source code management tools. Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with full revision tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a central server.
This package provides the git graphical user interface.
If aspell is installed, it can check the spelling of commit messages as the user types.
If meld is installed, it can be used for displaying diffs and for interactive merge conflict resolution.
There are three methods to install git-gui
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install git-gui Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install git-gui
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install git-gui

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install git-gui
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install git-gui
Install git-gui Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install git-gui
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install git-gui
How To Uninstall git-gui on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the git-gui
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove git-gui
Uninstall git-gui And Its Dependencies
To uninstall git-gui
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove git-gui
Remove git-gui Configurations and Data
To remove git-gui
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge git-gui
Remove git-gui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
