How To Install gimp-gmic on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install gimp-gmic on Kali Linux.
What is gimp-gmic
gimp-gmic is:
G’MIC is an open and full-featured framework for image processing, providing several different user interfaces to convert/manipulate/filter/visualize generic image datasets, from 1d scalar signals to 3d+t sequences of multi-spectral volumetric images.
This package contains the GIMP plugin.
There are three methods to install gimp-gmic on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gimp-gmic Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gimp-gmic using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gimp-gmicInstall gimp-gmic Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gimp-gmic using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gimp-gmicInstall gimp-gmic Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gimp-gmic using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gimp-gmicHow To Uninstall gimp-gmic on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the gimp-gmic package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gimp-gmicUninstall gimp-gmic And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gimp-gmic and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gimp-gmicRemove gimp-gmic Configurations and Data
To remove gimp-gmic configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gimp-gmicRemove gimp-gmic configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gimp-gmic configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge gimp-gmicDependencies
