How To Install ghdl-llvm on Kali Linux

What is ghdl-llvm
ghdl-llvm is:
GHDL is a compiler and simulator for VHDL, a Hardware Description Language. GHDL is not an interpreter: it allows you to analyse and elaborate sources to generate machine code from your design. Native program execution is the only way for high speed simulation.
This package contains the compiler with the LLVM backend.
There are three methods to install ghdl-llvm on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ghdl-llvm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ghdl-llvm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ghdl-llvmInstall ghdl-llvm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ghdl-llvm using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ghdl-llvmInstall ghdl-llvm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ghdl-llvm using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ghdl-llvmHow To Uninstall ghdl-llvm on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ghdl-llvm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ghdl-llvmUninstall ghdl-llvm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ghdl-llvm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ghdl-llvmRemove ghdl-llvm Configurations and Data
To remove ghdl-llvm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ghdl-llvmRemove ghdl-llvm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ghdl-llvm configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ghdl-llvmDependencies
