The Glorious Glasgow Haskell Compilation system (GHC) is a compiler for Haskell.

Haskell is “the” standard lazy functional programming language. The language definition and additional documentation can be found in the `haskell-doc' package. Alternatively, there is an online version at http://haskell.org/onlinereport/.

This package contains additional profiling libraries. They are only needed, if you want to take a closer look on where exactly your program burns CPU cycles.

There are three methods to install ghc-prof on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ghc-prof Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ghc-prof using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ghc-prof

Install ghc-prof Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ghc-prof using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ghc-prof

Install ghc-prof Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ghc-prof using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ghc-prof

How To Uninstall ghc-prof on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the ghc-prof package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ghc-prof

Uninstall ghc-prof And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ghc-prof and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ghc-prof

Remove ghc-prof Configurations and Data

To remove ghc-prof configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ghc-prof
