How To Install gfortran on Ubuntu 20.04

What is gfortran
gfortran is:
This is the GNU Fortran 95 compiler, which compiles Fortran 95 on platforms supported by the gcc compiler. It uses the gcc backend to generate optimized code.

After updating apt database, We can install gfortran
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install gfortran
using apt

Install gfortran Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gfortran

How To Uninstall gfortran on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the gfortran
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gfortran
Uninstall gfortran And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gfortran
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gfortran
Remove gfortran Configurations and Data
To remove gfortran
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gfortran
