How To Install gfortran-9 on Kali Linux

What is gfortran-9

gfortran-9 is:

This is the GNU Fortran compiler, which compiles Fortran on platforms supported by the gcc compiler. It uses the gcc backend to generate optimized code.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

To uninstall only the gfortran-9 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove gfortran-9

To uninstall gfortran-9 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove gfortran-9

To remove gfortran-9 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge gfortran-9
