How To Install gentoo on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install gentoo on Kali Linux.
What is gentoo
gentoo is:
gentoo is a two-pane file manager for the X Window System. gentoo lets the user do (almost) all of the configuration and customizing from within the program itself. If you still prefer to hand-edit configuration files, they’re fairly easy to work with since they are written in an XML format.
gentoo features a fairly complex and powerful file identification system, coupled to an object-oriented style system, which together give you a lot of control over how files of different types are displayed and acted upon. Additionally, over a hundred pixmap images are available for use in file type descriptions.
gentoo was written from scratch in ANSI C, and it utilizes the GTK+ toolkit for its interface.
There are three methods to install gentoo on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gentoo Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gentoo using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gentooInstall gentoo Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gentoo using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gentooInstall gentoo Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gentoo using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gentooHow To Uninstall gentoo on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the gentoo package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gentooUninstall gentoo And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gentoo and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gentooRemove gentoo Configurations and Data
To remove gentoo configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gentooRemove gentoo configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gentoo configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge gentooDependencies
