How To Install geda-gnetlist on Ubuntu 18.04

The gEDA project has produced and continues working on a full GPL’d suite and toolkit of Electronic Design Automation tools. Currently, the gEDA project offers a mature suite of free software applications for electronics design, including schematic capture, attribute management, bill of materials (BOM) generation, netlisting into over 20 netlist formats, analog and digital simulation, and printed circuit board (PCB) layout.
This package contains gnetlist, the netlist generator.
There are three methods to install geda-gnetlist
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install geda-gnetlist Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install geda-gnetlist
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install geda-gnetlist
Install geda-gnetlist Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install geda-gnetlist
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install geda-gnetlist

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install geda-gnetlist
using aptitude

How To Uninstall geda-gnetlist on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the geda-gnetlist
