How To Install gdspy-common on Ubuntu 22.04

What is gdspy-common
gdspy-common is:
Gdspy is a Python module for creating/importing/merging GDSII stream files. It includes key libraries for creating complex CAD layouts.
Features:
- Boolean operations on polygons (AND, OR, NOT, XOR) based on clipping algorithm
- Polygon offset (inward and outward rescaling of polygons)
- Efficient point-in-polygon solutions for large array sets
This package contains arch-independent images which are needed by both python-gdspy and python3-gdspy.
There are three methods to install gdspy-common on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gdspy-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gdspy-common using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gdspy-common

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install gdspy-common using apt by running the following command:

Install gdspy-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gdspy-common using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gdspy-common
