How To Install gdb-multiarch on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install gdb-multiarch on Kali Linux.
What is gdb-multiarch
gdb-multiarch is:
GDB is a source-level debugger, capable of breaking programs at any specific line, displaying variable values, and determining where errors occurred. Currently, gdb supports C, C++, D, Objective-C, Fortran, Java, OpenCL C, Pascal, assembly, Modula-2, Go, and Ada. A must-have for any serious programmer.
This package contains a version of GDB which supports multiple target architectures.
There are three methods to install gdb-multiarch on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gdb-multiarch Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gdb-multiarch using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gdb-multiarchInstall gdb-multiarch Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gdb-multiarch using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gdb-multiarchInstall gdb-multiarch Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install gdb-multiarch using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gdb-multiarchHow To Uninstall gdb-multiarch on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the gdb-multiarch package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gdb-multiarchUninstall gdb-multiarch And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gdb-multiarch and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gdb-multiarchRemove gdb-multiarch Configurations and Data
To remove gdb-multiarch configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gdb-multiarchRemove gdb-multiarch configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gdb-multiarch configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
