How To Install gbonds on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install gbonds on Kali Linux.

What is gbonds

gbonds is:

GBonds is a U.S. Savings Bond inventory program for the GNOME desktop environment. It allows you to track the current redemption value and performance of your U.S. Savings Bonds and keep a valuable record of the bonds you own.

Features:

• Tracks savings notes and series E, EE, and I savings bonds.
• Uses U.S. Treasury Department redemption files without modification.
• Imports inventories created with Savings Bond Wizard.
• Tracks current value of both individual bonds and an entire inventory.
• Prints inventories. It is important to keep a permanent record of your bonds in a separate location in case you ever need to replace them.

There are three methods to install gbonds on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install gbonds Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install gbonds using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install gbonds

Install gbonds Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install gbonds using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install gbonds

Install gbonds Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install gbonds using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install gbonds

How To Uninstall gbonds on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the gbonds package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove gbonds

Uninstall gbonds And Its Dependencies

To uninstall gbonds and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove gbonds

Remove gbonds Configurations and Data

To remove gbonds configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge gbonds
