How To Install gap-factint on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install gap-factint on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is gap-factint
gap-factint is:
GAP is a system for computational discrete algebra with particular emphasis on computational group theory, but which has already proved useful also in other areas.
This package brings to GAP routines for factoring integers, in particular:
- Pollard’s p-1
- Williams’ p+1
- Elliptic Curves Method (ECM)
- Continued Fraction Algorithm (CFRAC)
- Multiple Polynomial Quadratic Sieve (MPQS)
It also provides access to Richard P. Brent’s tables of factors of integers of the form b^k +/- 1.
There are three methods to install gap-factint on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gap-factint Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gap-factint using apt-get by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install gap-factint using aptitude by running the following command:
