How To Install ganeti on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ganeti on Kali Linux.
What is ganeti
ganeti is:
Ganeti is a virtual server cluster management tool built on top of the Xen and KVM virtualization technologies and other free software. It provides an automated environment to manage highly available virtual machine instances.
It is designed to facilitate cluster management of virtual servers using commodity hardware, and to provide fast and simple recovery after physical failures. It can take care of operations such as redundant disk creation and management, operating system installation (in cooperation with OS-specific install scripts), startup, shutdown, and failover of instances between physical systems.
This package installs the complete Ganeti system.
There are three methods to install ganeti on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ganeti Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ganeti using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ganetiInstall ganeti Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ganeti using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ganetiInstall ganeti Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ganeti using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ganetiHow To Uninstall ganeti on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ganeti package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ganetiUninstall ganeti And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ganeti and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ganetiRemove ganeti Configurations and Data
To remove ganeti configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ganetiRemove ganeti configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ganeti configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ganetiDependencies
