How To Install fwupd-tests on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install fwupd-tests on Kali Linux.
What is fwupd-tests
fwupd-tests is:
fwupd is a daemon to allow session software to update device firmware. You can either use a GUI software manager like GNOME Software to view and apply updates, the command-line tool or the system D-Bus interface directly. Firmware updates are supported for a variety of technologies. See https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd for details
This package provides a set of installed tests that can be run to validate the daemon in a continuous integration system.
There are three methods to install fwupd-tests on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fwupd-tests Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fwupd-tests using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fwupd-testsInstall fwupd-tests Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fwupd-tests using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fwupd-testsInstall fwupd-tests Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
