How To Install fvwm-crystal on Ubuntu 18.04

What is fvwm-crystal
fvwm-crystal is:
FVWM-crystal creates an easy to use desktop environment using fvwm2 as its window manager and main core. From another point of view its just a very powerful fvwm configuration.
A file manager may be optionally used to display desktop icons, ROX-filer and nautilus are supported for this task. FVWM-crystal furthermore has UI integration for various music players, among them audacious and mpd.
There is also a very powerful menu system that has an extensive default configuration but may be customized and extended by each user to fit personal requirements.
There are three methods to install fvwm-crystal on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fvwm-crystal Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fvwm-crystal using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fvwm-crystal
Install fvwm-crystal Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fvwm-crystal using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fvwm-crystal
Install fvwm-crystal Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fvwm-crystal using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fvwm-crystal
How To Uninstall fvwm-crystal on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the fvwm-crystal package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fvwm-crystal
Uninstall fvwm-crystal And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fvwm-crystal and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fvwm-crystal
Remove fvwm-crystal Configurations and Data
To remove fvwm-crystal configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fvwm-crystal
Remove fvwm-crystal configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fvwm-crystal configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fvwm-crystal
