How To Install freerdp2-wayland on Kali Linux

What is freerdp2-wayland
freerdp2-wayland is:
FreeRDP is a libre client/server implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
Currently, the FreeRDP clients supports the following Windows Versions:
- Windows NT Server
- Windows 2000 Terminal Server
- Windows XP
- Windows 2003 Server
- Windows Vista
- Windows 2008/2008r2/2011SBS Server
- Windows 7
- Windows 2012/2012r2 Server
- Windows 8
- Windows 10
This package contains the wayland based client.
There are three methods to install freerdp2-wayland on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install freerdp2-wayland Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install freerdp2-wayland using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install freerdp2-waylandInstall freerdp2-wayland Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install freerdp2-wayland using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install freerdp2-waylandInstall freerdp2-wayland Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install freerdp2-wayland using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install freerdp2-waylandHow To Uninstall freerdp2-wayland on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the freerdp2-wayland package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove freerdp2-waylandUninstall freerdp2-wayland And Its Dependencies
To uninstall freerdp2-wayland and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove freerdp2-waylandRemove freerdp2-wayland Configurations and Data
To remove freerdp2-wayland configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge freerdp2-waylandRemove freerdp2-wayland configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove freerdp2-wayland configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge freerdp2-waylandDependencies
