How To Install foremost on Kali Linux

What is foremost
foremost is:
Foremost is a forensic program to recover lost files based on their headers, footers, and internal data structures.
Foremost can work on image files, such as those generated by dd, Safeback, Encase, etc, or directly on a drive. The headers and footers can be specified by a configuration file or you can use command line switches to specify built-in file types. These built-in types look at the data structures of a given file format allowing for a more reliable and faster recovery.
There are three methods to install foremost on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install foremost Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install foremost using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install foremostInstall foremost Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install foremost using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install foremostInstall foremost Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the foremost package we can use the following command:
