fonts-smc is:

This is a metapackage which provides various TrueType fonts for Malayalam script which is primarily used in the state of Kerala.

These fonts are developed by SMC community. Following fonts are shipped with this package:

There are three methods to install fonts-smc on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install fonts-smc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
