How To Install fonts-roboto on Debian 9

fonts-roboto is:
Roboto is Google’s signature family of fonts, the default font in Android and ChromeOS and the recommended font for Google’s visual language, Material Design.
Roboto supports all Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek characters in Unicode 7.0 as well as currency symbol for the Georgian lari, to be published in Unicode 8.0.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install fonts-roboto
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install fonts-roboto
How To Uninstall fonts-roboto on Debian 9
To uninstall only the fonts-roboto
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fonts-roboto

To uninstall fonts-roboto
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-roboto

To remove fonts-roboto
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-roboto
