How To Install fonts-ipafont on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install fonts-ipafont on Kali Linux.
What is fonts-ipafont
fonts-ipafont is:
IPA Fonts are JIS X 0213:2004 compliant OpenType fonts based on TrueType outlines provided by Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA) from 2003. These are suitable for both display and printing.
This metapackage depends on fonts-ipafont-{mincho,gothic} packages to provide IPA Mincho, IPA P Mincho, IPA Gothic, and IPA P Gothic Fonts.
There are three methods to install fonts-ipafont on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fonts-ipafont Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fonts-ipafont using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fonts-ipafontInstall fonts-ipafont Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fonts-ipafont using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fonts-ipafontInstall fonts-ipafont Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fonts-ipafont using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fonts-ipafontHow To Uninstall fonts-ipafont on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the fonts-ipafont package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fonts-ipafontUninstall fonts-ipafont And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fonts-ipafont and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-ipafontRemove fonts-ipafont Configurations and Data
To remove fonts-ipafont configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-ipafontRemove fonts-ipafont configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fonts-ipafont configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fonts-ipafontDependencies
