How To Install fonts-baekmuk on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install fonts-baekmuk on Kali Linux.

What is fonts-baekmuk

fonts-baekmuk is:

This is a set of Korean TrueType fonts, which contains 4 font families; Dotum, Batang, Gulim and Headline.

Note that these fonts are not recommended for computer display. Because they are not with reasonable hinting instructions, their CJK glyphs (which usually have more strokes than Latin glyphs) are almost not readable in most computer screens.

There are three methods to install fonts-baekmuk on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install fonts-baekmuk Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install fonts-baekmuk using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install fonts-baekmuk using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude -y install fonts-baekmuk

Uninstall fonts-baekmuk And Its Dependencies

To uninstall fonts-baekmuk and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-baekmuk

Remove fonts-baekmuk Configurations and Data

To remove fonts-baekmuk configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-baekmuk

Remove fonts-baekmuk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
