How To Install fonts-arphic-ukai on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install fonts-arphic-ukai on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is fonts-arphic-ukai
fonts-arphic-ukai is:
“AR PL UKai” is a high-quality Chinese Unicode TrueType font collection (ukai.ttc) derieved from the original “AR PL KaitiM Big5” and “AR PL KaitiM GB” fonts generously provided by Arphic Technology to the Free Software community under the “Arphic Public License”.
It has been extended from the original “AR PL KaitiM Big5” and “AR PL KaitiM GB” fonts with additional glyphs now covering ISO8859-1,2,3,4,9,10,13,14,15, BIG5, GB2312-80 and HKSCS-2004. It also includes Bopomofo Extensions for Hakka and Minnan according to the Unicode 5.0 standard and MBE variants of those glyphs.
Support for CNS 11643, GBK, GB 18030, Japanese and Korean is under heavy development. Users who need more Han glyphs than provided by GB2312 and Big5 or who need support for Chinese minority languages may want to install this font package.
This font is an alternative to the fonts-arphic-bkai00mp and fonts-arphic-gkai00mp font packages.

There are three methods to install fonts-arphic-ukai on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fonts-arphic-ukai Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-arphic-ukai using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fonts-arphic-ukai
Install fonts-arphic-ukai Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-arphic-ukai using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fonts-arphic-ukai
Install fonts-arphic-ukai Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-arphic-ukai using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fonts-arphic-ukai
How To Uninstall fonts-arphic-ukai on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the fonts-arphic-ukai package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fonts-arphic-ukai
Uninstall fonts-arphic-ukai And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fonts-arphic-ukai and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-arphic-ukai
Remove fonts-arphic-ukai Configurations and Data
To remove fonts-arphic-ukai configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-arphic-ukai
Remove fonts-arphic-ukai configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fonts-arphic-ukai configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fonts-arphic-ukai
