How To Install fontconfig-config on Debian 9

on Debian 9.
What is fontconfig-config
fontconfig-config is:
Fontconfig is a font configuration and customization library, which does not depend on the X Window System. It is designed to locate fonts within the system and select them according to requirements specified by applications.
This package contains the configuration files and scripts for fontconfig.
There are three methods to install fontconfig-config
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fontconfig-config Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fontconfig-config
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fontconfig-config

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fontconfig-config
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fontconfig-config
Install fontconfig-config Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fontconfig-config
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fontconfig-config
How To Uninstall fontconfig-config on Debian 9
To uninstall only the fontconfig-config
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fontconfig-config
Uninstall fontconfig-config And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fontconfig-config
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fontconfig-config
Remove fontconfig-config Configurations and Data
To remove fontconfig-config
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fontconfig-config
Remove fontconfig-config configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fontconfig-config
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fontconfig-config
