How To Install flextra on Ubuntu 20.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install flextra on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is flextra
flextra is:
Trajectory models are important tools for studying transport phenomena in the atmosphere. In the environmental sciences, they are often used to establish source-receptor relationships of air pollutants.
FLEXTRA can be used to calculate different types of forward or backward trajectories, and has facilities to estimate the uncertainty of trajectories. It is specifically designed to compute long time sequences of trajectories for many receptor locations.
FLEXTRA may be used with the Metview meteorological workstation to visualize trajectories.
There are three methods to install flextra on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install flextra Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install flextra using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install flextra
Install flextra Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install flextra using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install flextra
Install flextra Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install flextra using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install flextra
How To Uninstall flextra on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the flextra package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove flextra
Uninstall flextra And Its Dependencies
To uninstall flextra and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove flextra
Remove flextra Configurations and Data
To remove flextra configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge flextra
Remove flextra configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove flextra configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge flextra
