How To Install fldiff on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install fldiff on Kali Linux.
What is fldiff
fldiff is:
Fldiff is a graphical diff program that shows the differences between two files/directories, or a file/directory and a CVS or Subversion repository. It is inspired by xdiff (Motif-based) and xxdiff (Qt-based), whose choice of GUI toolkit has hampered their portability to many of the systems.
Fldiff uses the Fast Light Toolkit (FLTK) and has been tested on AIX, IRIX, Linux, MacOS X, and Solaris, and should also run on Windows.
There are three methods to install fldiff on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fldiff Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fldiff using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fldiffInstall fldiff Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fldiff using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fldiffInstall fldiff Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fldiff using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fldiffHow To Uninstall fldiff on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the fldiff package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fldiffUninstall fldiff And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fldiff and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fldiffRemove fldiff Configurations and Data
To remove fldiff configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fldiffRemove fldiff configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fldiff configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fldiffDependencies
