How To Install fio on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install fio on Kali Linux.
What is fio
fio is:
fio is a tool that will spawn a number of threads or processes doing a particular type of I/O action as specified by the user. fio takes a number of global parameters, each inherited by the thread unless otherwise parameters given to them overriding that setting is given. The typical use of fio is to write a job file matching the I/O load one wants to simulate.
This package contains the command line version of fio and all additional command line tools. The package gfio contains the GTK+ based gui frontend for fio.
There are three methods to install fio on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fio Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fio using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fioInstall fio Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.

To uninstall only the fio package we can use the following command:

To uninstall fio and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fioRemove fio Configurations and Data
To remove fio configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fioRemove fio configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
