How To Install finch on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install finch on Kali Linux.
What is finch
finch is:
Finch is a text/console-based, modular instant messaging client capable of using multiple networks at once. Currently supported are: AIM/ICQ, IRC, Jabber/XMPP/Google Talk, Napster, Zephyr, Gadu-Gadu, Bonjour, Groupwise, Sametime, and SIMPLE.
Some extra packages are suggested to use increased functionality:
- libx11-6
- To use the Clipboard and/or Toaster plugins.
There are three methods to install finch on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install finch Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install finch using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install finchInstall finch Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.

To uninstall only the finch package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove finchUninstall finch And Its Dependencies
To uninstall finch and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove finchRemove finch Configurations and Data
To remove finch configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge finchRemove finch configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
