How To Install filetraq on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install filetraq on Kali Linux.

What is filetraq

filetraq is:

FileTraq is a shell script that reads a list of files to watch, runs diff against each file and its backup, and reports any discrepancies, along with keeping a dated backup of the original. It’s designed to be run as a cron job.

There are three methods to install filetraq on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install filetraq Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install filetraq using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install filetraq

Install filetraq Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install filetraq using apt by running the following command:

Install filetraq Using aptitude
